The company grew with a conservative budget through clever applications of new technologies. Though I had no ownership in the company, my role was often treated as that of a partner in guiding the company direction. Digest Group was a virtual company, before such a entity came into the public consciousness.

MISCELLANY

Connecticut Valley Insignia ('02 to present)
Production Artist / Marketing Director

CVI is a small two-man side business that creates historically accurate miniature insignia for use with 1/6th scale figures. I research and then create the insignia art in Photoshop and/or Illustrator. I also assemble the instructions/marking guide for each set. I farm out to contractors for printing onto cloth, decal sheet, or photoetched metal. These sets are then sold online through www.thetoycellar.com.

Starship Modeler Website - www.starshipmodeler.com ('96 to present)
Co-Editor/ Art Director

An outgrowth of my lifelong interest in scale modeling, the Starship Modeler site is an effort undertaken by my coeditor, John Lester, and myself. Most of the site's design and interface goals were to keep it clean and accessible to the lowest common denominator. Since it's creation in '95, we have built it into the Web's preeminent site for this niche interest, through quality and timely content, as well as online community building.

Pioneer Valley Aerospace Modelers ('91-'94)
Director/Newsletter Editor

Rekindling my teenage interest in model rocketry, I started the PVAM model rocket club in 1992. I was editor of the club newsletter, which was distributed to members and other NAR (National Association of Rocketry) chapters. The effort was recognized by the NAR with a national award for best new newsletter of 1993, based on its graphic design and content.
